Lupin Camera Club

Photographer To ensure the privacy of Lupin members and guests, photography at Lupin is restricted to members of the Lupin Camera Club, who agree to a strict set of rules limiting who can be photographed, when and where.

Photographer The Lupin Camera Club acts as a buffer between those who enjoy the hobby of photography and want to practice it at Lupin, and those who who would prefer to never see a camera during their Lupin experience. The Camera Club provides photography services to Lupin members and guests, safeguards the privacy of those who want not to be photographed, and facilitates the exchange of technical and artistic information among its members.

The Camera Club meets at 1:00 p.m. the second Sunday of each month from March through November, at Oak Circle on the Lupin campus. Attendance at Camera Club meetings is open to all interested parties, but membership is limited to Lupin members in good standing.

Photographer The second Sunday of each month, year round, is designated "Camera Day." These are the only days during which a camera may be used on the general grounds of Lupin, and then only by Camera Club members with the consent of their subjects (and of the parents of minor children). Camera-shy people may wish to avoid Lupin on those days, but this is really not necessary, since Camera Club members always obtain permission before shooting. On other days, photography is permitted only on the Nature Trail or by explicit written permission of Lupin management.

While carrying a camera on the Lupin grounds, Camera Club members display their Camera Club membership cards, including an ID photo of the member and a synopsis of the rules. Lupin guests wanting a souvenir snapshot of their visit are welcome to ask any Camera Club member to create it.

Camera Club members also help enforce Lupin's rules against unauthorized photography, which provide that anyone carrying a camera on the grounds without a valid camera pass may have film confiscated and be expelled from the grounds.

Periodically, the Lupin Camera Club holds a photo exhibition in the Clubhouse Restaurant, during which Camera Club members display their finest works.

The Camera Club provides an official photographer at costume theme dances, so that Lupin members and guests may obtain a souvenir photograph of themselves in costume. Participation is voluntary, and the photographer's station is off to the side so as not to interfere with other dancers' enjoyment.
